Evolution stones play a crucial role in the Cobblemon universe, enabling the evolution of various Cobblemon. These stones can be mined from specific ores, known as evolution stone ores, scattered throughout the world. This guide delves into the complexities of obtaining, mining, and utilizing these valuable resources.

Obtaining Evolution Stone Ores

Mining

Evolution stone ores are best mined with a stone or higher-tier pickaxe enchanted with Silk Touch. Without the Silk Touch enchantment, the ores will drop their respective evolution stones. Using a pickaxe with the Fortune enchantment can yield multiple evolution stones from a single ore.

Natural Generation

The generation of evolution stone ores is highly dependent on biome tags. Each type of evolution stone ore has common and rare biome tags that dictate their frequency of appearance.

  • Common Generation: Occurs in two batches. The first batch generates 8 times per chunk in blobs of 1-2 from levels 64 to 320, peaking around level 192. The second batch also generates 8 times per chunk in blobs of 1-2 from levels -64 to 192, with a peak around level 64.
  • Rare Generation: Also occurs in two batches. The first batch generates 4 times per chunk in blobs of 1-2 from levels 64 to 320, peaking around level 192. The second batch generates 4 times per chunk in blobs of 1-2 from levels -64 to 192, with a peak around level 64.

This creates a broad range between levels 64 and 192 where evolution stones are plenty.

Biome Tag Rarity

Each evolution stone ore is associated with specific biomes, affecting their common and rare generation rates:
