Fossil Pokémon in Cobblemon
Fossil Pokémon are prehistoric species that can be restored from fossils found while mining. On Cobblemon.gg, the fossil system uses a Resurrection Machine to bring these ancient Pokémon back to life. This guide covers everything you need to know about finding and restoring fossil Pokémon.
Finding Fossils
Fossils are found by carefully brushing Suspicious Sand and Suspicious Gravel blocks in the world. These blocks look similar to normal sand and gravel, so having a texture pack that makes them stand out is highly recommended.
Warning: If Suspicious Sand or Suspicious Gravel falls (loses block support), the loot inside will be permanently lost. Always mine carefully from the side or place support blocks first.
The Resurrection Machine
To restore a fossil Pokémon, you need to craft a Resurrection Machine with a Restoration Tank. The process has several steps:
Fill the Restoration Tank
Add organic materials (seeds, etc.) totaling a value of 64. Revives and Max Revives also work and require a much lower total value.
Place the Fossil
Put your fossil alongside the organic materials in the Restoration Tank.
Wait 12 Minutes
The embryo needs 12 minutes to fully grow inside the tank.
Release or Catch
Break the tank to release it as a wild Pokémon, or right-click with a Poké Ball to catch it directly.
Important Fossil Tips
Non-breedable fossils: Dracozolt, Arctozolt, Dracovish, and Arctovish are the only fossil Pokémon that cannot breed. Plan accordingly if you want specific IVs.
No shinies from machines: So far, no shiny Pokémon has been obtained from the Resurrection Machine on Cobblemon.gg.
Texture pack recommended: Download a texture pack that highlights Suspicious Sand and Suspicious Gravel blocks to make fossil hunting significantly easier.
