How EV Training Works in Cobblemon
Effort Values (EVs) are hidden stats that boost your Pokémon's performance in battle. Each Pokémon can have a maximum of 510 total EVs spread across its six stats, with a cap of 252 per individual stat. On Cobblemon.gg, EV training uses items instead of EV training warps, giving you precise control over your Pokémon's competitive build.
The three main methods for EV training are Vitamins (+10 EVs each), Mochis (+4 EVs each), and EV-reducing Berries. Each has different crafting requirements and efficiency levels.
Vitamins - The Primary EV Training Method
Vitamins are the most efficient way to add EVs. Each vitamin gives +10 EVs to its corresponding stat. You craft them using a Brewing Stand with three ingredients: Medicinal Leeks, Vivichoke (PP Ups), and the appropriate EV Berry.
Vitamin & Berry Reference Table
Ingredient 1: Medicinal Leeks
Found in freshwater biomes like rivers and swamps. Used to craft Medicinal Brew at a Brewing Stand.
Ingredient 2: Vivichoke (PP Ups)
Seeds found in Monster Rooms, Mineshafts, Jungle Pyramids, Villages, and Shipwrecks. Plant them like normal crops and break harvested plants for more seeds.
Ingredient 3: EV-Reducing Berries
Mutated berries that you can grow yourself. Each berry type needs a specific Mulch (craftable) to yield more berries when harvested.
Mochis - Alternative EV Items
Each Mochi adds +4 EVs to a stat. While less efficient than vitamins, the Fresh-Start Mochi is extremely valuable as it resets all EVs to 0, allowing you to completely rebuild a Pokémon's EV spread.
Mochi Crafting Requirements
Campfire Pot - Craftable workstation
Hearty Grains - Found in swamp biomes
Honey Bottles - Available in /shop (bees do not work on this server)
Enigma Berries - Mutated berry, or substitute with the EV berry for the stat you want
Leveling Up Pokémon
After EV training, you need to level your Pokémon. Cobblemon.gg has no level grind warps, but several effective methods exist:
Wild Pokémon (The End)
Unowns spawn at Lv. 13-100, making The End great for matching your Pokémon's level.
Daily Battles
Repeat /warp dailybattle and forfeit at the last one for consistent EXP.
Elite Four Farming
Battle the first Elite Four leader repeatedly. Forfeit at the second one.
Raids with EXP Share
Have your Pokémon hold an EXP Share during raids for passive leveling.
Blissey Training
Pay other players to Blissey train your Pokémon. Levels ~76 levels in one round.
